Minapin is a green, orchard-filled village just off the Karakoram Highway in Nagar. For trekkers it is famous as the starting point for the Rakaposhi Base Camp trek, which climbs through forest and pasture to Hapakun and the meadow of Tagafari beneath the ice walls of Rakaposhi (7,788m).
Even without trekking, Minapin rewards visitors with peaceful village life, terraced fields and towering views of both Rakaposhi and neighbouring Diran Peak (7,266m).
From a gentle stay to a serious trek.
A 2–3 day trek to Tagafari meadow beneath Rakaposhi — one of Hunza's finest and most accessible base-camp treks.
Watch sunrise and sunset light on Diran and Rakaposhi from the village and camps.
Enjoy Nagar hospitality, orchards and slow mountain life.
Shorter walks toward Hapakun for big views without the full base-camp commitment.
Minapin is a short drive off the KKH between Gilgit and Karimabad, making it an easy stop or trek base on a Hunza itinerary. The Rakaposhi Base Camp trek should be done with a local guide, which we arrange along with porters and camping if needed.
It is moderate — a 2–3 day trek with a steady climb to Tagafari meadow. Reasonable fitness is enough; we provide a guide, porters and camping.
Yes. Minapin is a lovely, low-key village stay with excellent mountain views even for non-trekkers.
Rakaposhi (7,788m) and Diran Peak (7,266m) both dominate the skyline above Minapin.
