FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How hard is the K2 Base Camp trek?

It is strenuous: long days on glacier moraine at high altitude over about two weeks. You should be fit and have multi-day trekking experience. Gondogoro La adds a technical, roped pass crossing.

When is the best time?

Late June to August, when the Baltoro is open and weather is most stable. Outside this window the route is not advisable.

Do I need permits?

Yes, and we arrange all trekking permits, porters and a licensed guide as part of the package.

Is this near Hunza?

It starts from Skardu, a separate valley from Hunza. Many travellers combine it with a few days in Hunza before or after — we can build a combined trip.
