What to Wear in Hunza
For Women
Loose trousers/long skirts with tunic-length tops are ideal; a scarf in the daypack covers mosque visits and dust. Hunza is notably comfortable for women travellers: local women work everywhere, and solo female guests report ease. Activewear under a long top works for hikes.
For Men
Trousers or long shorts (knee-covering preferred in villages), t-shirts fine, a collared layer for nicer dinners. Shalwar kameez bought in Karimabad makes a comfortable, appreciated option.
Practical Layers
Every season needs a warm evening layer; see the full for month-specific lists. Sturdy shoes beat sandals for forts and viewpoints.
