The Cathedral Ridge

Passu Cones — locally “Passu Cathedral” — is the row of impossibly sharp peaks that rises straight from the highway. The classic head-on shot is from the KKH just south of Passu; the Gulmit side, Borith rim and the suspension bridge all offer different leading-line compositions.

The Rainbow / Hussaini Bridge

The Hussaini suspension bridge — widely nicknamed the “rainbow bridge” for its cable-and-plank sway above turquoise water — is one of Pakistan’s most thrilling and photographed crossings. Cross unhurried, hold both cables, and skip it in high wind; the viewpoint photos are spectacular even without stepping on.

Tunnels & New Bridges

After the 2010 Attabad landslide submerged the old road, the 7 km Attabad tunnels and a series of graceful new bridges reconnected upper Hunza in 2015 — now attractions in their own right, especially the lake-mouth bridges where turquoise water meets fresh engineering against bare rock.

Doing It All in a Day

A single upper-Hunza day easily chains Attabad boating → the tunnels → the new bridges → Hussaini Rainbow Bridge → Passu Cones → Borith Lake and the Passu Glacier viewpoint. Every package that overnights in Gojal covers this sequence; photographers should build in dawn at Passu.
