Hunza Packing Guide — Season by Season

Travel PlanningHunza Travel Guide

In short: Pack layers, not bulk: Hunza days are mild and nights cold in every season, and the dry air makes temperature swings feel bigger. This list covers the classic tours; treks add gear we specify per route.

All-Season Core

Layerable fleece + light down, windproof shell, sun hat and quality sunglasses (high-altitude glare), SPF 50, lip balm, walking shoes with grip, power bank, and a small daypack. Modest dress travels best — covered shoulders/knees suits every setting.

Seasonal Additions

Blossom/autumn: warm hat, gloves for dawn shoots. Summer: sandals for hotels, swim-adjacent wear for Borith picnics. Winter: proper down, thermal base layers, insulated boots. Khunjerab day always: winter layers regardless of month.

What Not to Bring

Drones without checking rules (activities guide), heavy formal wear, and cash anxiety — ATMs exist in Karimabad, though backup cash is smart (currency guide).
